Today I’m taking part in a mini tour to celebrate the arrival of Sara’s (from Made by Sara) new baby. Congratulations Sara!
I tend to try and make gifts that I think will be fairly practical so first up a little bandana bib. I used the free pattern that is available on my site but printed it a 90% it’s original size to make it a little smaller for a new baby. The fabric used is a soft cotton jersey and some cotton batting for the backing as I couldn’t find any fleece.
For the t-shirt pattern I used the Ziggy top pattern by Made-it patterns. It’s a firm favourite for new baby gifts (I used it to make these gifts too) as it’s such a quick and easy sew – and I always seem to leave these things to the last minute. The good news is I’ve got two copies of the pattern to give away so if you’d like a chance to receive please leave a comment below and/or over on my instagram account where I’ll give the other copy away.
( I’ll pick a winner by random so any comment will do!)
I made almost the same set of clothes for my college friends new baby last month adding a pair of soft jersey pants using a free pattern by Nosh.
There are lots of other posts with ideas for new baby gifts (for Sara). The links are below:

That outfit is adorable. I obsess over making tiny clothes. And congratulations to Sara too.
With a baby on the way, I can definitely use this pattern!
Congratulations! I’ll do a random draw this time next week.
Tibecayao – You are the winner! – I’ll have the pattern sent to you by email soon!
What a cute shirt! With all the gorgeous handmade goodies Sara is receiving for their new baby boy, she should be able to skip doing laundry for,,,,,maybe half a day. LOL. I’d love to win a copy of the Ziggy.
So, so cute. I love the Baby Ziggy in stripes. I very nearly made Sara a baby Ziggy too 😉
Gorgeous baby outfit – love the colours and the stripes. We have a new baby niece arriving soon, so I appreciate the baby sewing inspiration!
Oh that is wonderful! I’d love a chance to win the Ziggy pattern! You always make such adorable things.
Thanks Sabrina! The odds aren’t too bad but I’ll let everyone know next week.
